Where to eat in Lake Garda

Admittedly, my diet at Lake Garda consisted mostly of Gelato and Pizza. But can you blame me? Of the places I did eat, here are the ones i’d recommend!

The best gelato in Lake Garda

Sud, Riva Del Garda

I had my first Italian pizza here! At dinner time it was very busy but it made for a lovely ambience. I’d say it’s more of a lunch time pizza spot, it’s perfectly placed if your at the Lake near by and need a food break.

Maffei, Riva Del Garda

I had the truffle pasta which I really enjoyed, although my other-half’s steak was less impressive. It’s in a lovely location in the centre of it all. Perfect for taking in the hustle and bustle.

Papillon, Salò

GO HERE. The pizza was incredible, the setting just perfect, and the service quick and friendly.

Papillon, Salò

La del Dolce Gelateria, Salò

I ate a lot of gelato in Garda, but this place was the one for me. I had a scoop of pecan (which tasted like I had an actual pecan in my mouth) and classic chocolate (also delightful).

Best gelato in Salò

Girasole, Sirmione

The perfect last meal ♥️ My favorite meal of the trip was here, the food was incredible and the service and atmosphere was everything. Topped off by a leaving present of a bottle of wine!

Fresco & Cimminio

This place is actually in Milano, but the pizza was so good it’s worth a mention. If you stop off to see the Duomo take a stroll to this place, the pizza is 10/10.

💡 It won’t cost you the earth to eat and drink at Lake Garda, if like me you are on a mission to eat as much pizza and gelato while you are there you’ll be surprised how little you spend.

💡 The wine! I love wine, it’s the only alcoholic drink I enjoy. Italy is a wine lovers paradise… you can order the house and rest easy you’ll enjoy the glass.

💡 In peak season book in advance. Due to the timing of my trip we managed to get a table at the places we wanted to dine on a walk in basis. I can see this being different for busy dinner times in high season, so i’d recommend to call ahead if possible.
