The best staycations in the UAE: Tried and tested

Staycationing is a hobby of mine.

There are so many stunning hotels to choose from in the UAE, the only real problem is picking which one. I’ve given a run down of my favorite UAE hotels, each one listed has been tried and tested by yours truly…

Oberoi Al Zorah

Oberoi Al Zorah in Ajman is the epitome of tranquility and luxury. The low-rise white buildings, immaculately kept luscious grounds and options for beachfront or pool lounging make you feel like you’ve transported to the Mediterranean.

Oberoi Al Zorah

Visit for… a peaceful getaway that feels like complete luxury from the moment you enter.

Skip if… you prefer a variety of dining options and a lively vibe.

Jumeirah Saadiyat Island Resort

When i’m in the mood for white sand and clear waters, I head to Jumeirah Saadiyat Island Resort in Abu Dhabi.

Visit for… resort vibes and a brilliant breakfast spread.

Skip if… you’re big on pool and beach service, it has always been slow when I’ve visited.

Address Fujairah Beach Resort

Around a 2 hour drive out of Dubai lies the beautiful Address Beach Resort in Fujairah. The resort is encased in mountains so you automatically feel away from everyday life, and being the Address, the decor is pure lifestyle luxe.

Address Beach Resort Fujairah

Visit for… a bit more of a road trip vibe and pair it with snorkeling. The food at the restaurant was also very good and the service was truly 5 star.

Skip… i’m not sure why you would!

The Abu Dhabi Edition

If you’re looking for a city hotel in Abu Dhabi, The Edition is all you need. It is stunning. It would be my top pick for anyone who is happy to stay in a robe and enjoy their hotel room for as long as possible. The dining options are also fabulous and there are 2 pools in case you’d like some sun.

The Abu Dhabi Edition

Visit for… gorgeous minimalistic decor.

Skip if… being close to the beach or a large pool is what you’d like.

Jumeirah Beach Hotel

Located on Dubai prime real estate, Jumeirah Beach Hotel is the best if you’d like views of the Burj Al Arab. The hotel beach is directly in front of the Burj Al Arab and you have access to Wild Wadi Water Park.

Jumeirah Beach Hotel

Visit for… stunning views and amazing beach walks and a Dubai staycation.

Skip if… you like to dine at your hotel, unless you visit on a half board package that allows you to dine at other Jumeirah Restaurants. I found the dining options in the hotel limited.

Caesars Palace Bluewater

I love the location of this hotel on Bluewaters island in Dubai. Not only is the hotel modern with the quirks you would expect from Caesars Palace it has multiple dining options (including Gordon Ramsey’s Hell’s Kitchen), its adjacent to popular beach club Cove Beach and across the road from Dubai landmark Ain Dubai.

Visit for… a stay in a prime, lively location with great pool and beach facilities.

Skip if… you want peace and relaxation, there are better options for that!

Nikki Beach

Staying here was complete Miami vibes! I thoroughly enjoyed spending the day sipping on rose at the beach club then retiring to the room.

Nikki Beach

Visit for… feeling like a celebrity.

Skip if… you want to be close to central Dubai as it’s slightly out of the way.

Chedi Al Bait, Sharjah

Looking for something a little different? Chedi Al Bait serves up an experience, from the moment you walk in your are immersed into an Emirati village – although it’s authentic it maintains a luxury feel.

Chedi Al Bait

I loved wondering around the maze like pathways and discovering so many pretty spaces.

Visit for… Arabic style relaxation in a very chilled setting.

Skip if… you like a drink (it’s a dry hotel!), you don’t want to be woken up by prayer or if a small pool is a deal breaker.

    1. Hi Esihle, I’d say you should have enough to cover 3 months expenses – this would include rent, travel and daily living costs like food. Hope that helps!

  1. Amazing guide. Unlike the random choices, I will refer to this on my plan to enjoy a vacation in the UAE.
